Blanche Fury
" Blurfly "
Genre: pop
reviewed by Tanya Goolsby

The first thing that hits me about Blanche Fury's sophomore release "Blurfly", is the sweet & sensual voice of singer Anne Fontenot. It wafts through each melody; crisp and fresh, yet, in places, snarling with passion. Take a listen to track #4, "Clueless", for an earful of Fontenot! Behind each song beats the heart of Heidi Pyron's solid and confident drumming as well as the trustworthy thump of Nancy Giammarco's bass. In addition to the reliable rhythm section, the guitar work, ranging from folky runs to out-and-out rock riffs, enhances and encourages every song.

Blanche Fury is all about making good music that "stands out in a crowd". They work hard to stand above and their musicianship has paid them well in the form of a multi-cultural tour. They have appreciative audiences everywhere from Grand Prairie, TX - their home base - to Finland, Germany and South Korea.

"Blurfly", written, performed, and arranged by the 4 talented women of Blanche Fury, is a singular blend of acoustic pop and rock 'n roll. My favorite song is track #10, "India", that has an infectious hook. It's still with me …

Hit Picks: "India" and "Clueless"
